- FDLE K-9 handler course (12 weeks)
- Trainer’s course (10 weeks)
- Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years as a police dog K-9 handler
- Not have been found guilty of any use of force
- PSD reserves the right to certify or remove you from the course with a pro-rated reimbursement.
- Requirements:
- One on one unit seminars and/or workshops (patrol and detection work)
- K-9 unit maintenance training course (patrol and detection work)
- Problem solving for certifications (FDLE, USPCA, NAPWDA, NPCA, NNDDA)
